WELCOME!
My name is Katie Douglas and I am the Media Specialist at Hurlock Elementary School. This is my 5th year at Hurlock Elementary School. Before becoming a Media Specialist I taught 6th grade Language Arts for 6 years. I graduated from Salisbury University with my Bachelors of Science and my Masters in Education focusing on Early Childhood. This past summer I graduated from Towson University with my Masters of Library Science. My philosophy of teaching is that each child has unique experiences, interests, and learning styles. My goal is to truly know your child well and use this knowledge to guide, support, and motivate him or her. I believe that good teaching requires continual professional development, personal reflection and collaboration. My media program is designed to support the educational goals and objectives of the school system. The program provides an organized collection of print materials, non-print materials, and technology as well as the services and integration of instruction necessary for their use and enjoyment.
